Peter M. Kramer focuses his practice on litigation, insurance and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He concentrates on multistate insurance regulatory issues including sales practices, advertising and compliance with the various state regulatory requirements. Mr. Kramer has assisted in the review, design and implementation of national compliance programs for several major life insurance companies.

Mr. Kramer has handled numerous mismanagement and fraudulent sales practice audits and investigations for clients in various industries including insurance, real estate and other regulated commercial sales sectors. Mr. Kramer also advises clients on internal corporate audits and investigations regarding compliance, fraud and theft-related issues. He has an extensive administrative practice and appears before the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, Florida Attorney General and Florida Real Estate Commission.

Mr. Kramer also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution. He assisted the Office of Insurance Regulation in the design and implementation of a mass catastrophic insurance mediation program, now a model for resolution of disputed coverage claims resulting from natural disasters. He serves as national settlement counsel for a major pharmaceutical company and frequently lectures on settlement negotiations and ADR.

Mr. Kramer is a member of The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, American Arbitration Association and American Mediation Association. He also is a member of Lex Mundi College of Mediators. Mr. Kramer is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for his commercial litigation practice and is regularly named a Top Lawyer in South Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide.

Representative Experience

• Designing and implementing a national settlement program for various product liability actions. Serving as national settlement counsel for a major pharmaceutical company.
• Leading the forensic audit of the sales practices and compliance programs of several large insurers regarding vanishing premiums, race-based pricing and sales, and advertising practice violations.
• Serving as lead counsel representing a pool of 30 major life insurers in various viatical-related litigation.
• Serving as Florida counsel for a major residential real estate group and handling numerous broker litigation disputes, and regulatory and administrative hearings.
• Serving as special counsel to the Florida Department of Insurance regarding Holocaust insurance claims.
• Serving as a certified circuit court mediator and arbitrator in more than 500 disputes involving medical and legal malpractice, insurance coverage cases, personal injury, construction litigation disputes and labor and employment matters.
• Representing several corporations as a governmental lobbyist before the legislatures in Tallahassee, Florida and Washington DC.
