Ákos Erős

Ákos Erős is the managing partner of the Budapest office and focuses on corporate and transactional matters including the preparation of complex commercial agreements. He has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, international trade, privatization, financial transactions and general commercial matters.

Mr. Erős represents an array of Hungary-based companies and global investors with business activities in Hungary including one of the largest banks in Hungary, the Hungarian entity of one of the largest telecommunication companies and one of the largest energy companies. Mr. Erős has a broad corporate and regulatory practice serving local and international clients including greenfield investment matters.

Mr. Erős is a member of the International Bar Association and the Budapest Bar Association, among others, and a member of the supervisory board of the Inter-Continental Hotel Budapest Rt.

He was recommended by Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers 2010, Chambers Europe 2010, IFLR1000 2009 and European Legal Experts 2009 as a leader in corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions. PLC Which lawyer? Yearbook 2009 recommended Mr. Erős for restructuring and insolvency matters.

    • Advising on complex privatizations including major power plants, major banks, telecom providers and major hotels in Hungary and in the surrounding countries.

    • Advising in several complex public purchase offers in Hungary.

    • Advising on a complex 15-year bank-financed outsourcing arrangement.

    • Advising on the sale of the interest of one of the largest Japanese investments in Hungary in a Hungarian joint venture.

    • Advising on numerous mergers and acquisitions and various complex real estate transactions including greenfield investments.
